Hire Terms and Conditions

All drivers: All vehicles have manual transmission. There is a maximum of 2 drivers per hire – additional Insurance Cover will be charged for additional drivers.

Driver qualifications: Drivers must be between 25 and 70 years of age. We require a photocopy of drivers’ current full driving licences (both parts where applicable). We require the drivers’ to produce their Licences on the day of hire. All drivers’ must have held a driving licence for two years. Any convictions, accidents, insurance claims within the last five years must be declared prior to booking.

Please note: No refund will be allowable, if at the start of the hire no drivers can comply with the above conditions.

Insurance: All our Motorhomes have full Comprehensive Insurance and AA cover. Insurance covers UK & Ireland only.

Motorhome Insurance Excess: The Insurance Excess on all Motorhomes is £500, this means that you, the hirer, will be liable for all damage up to £500 on any accident or insurance claim.

Reservations: Please complete your booking form and return within 5 working days with a cheque payment to secure your reservation (this will then be deducted from total hire charge).

Payment of hire: The balance of hire charges must be paid 6 weeks prior to the date of hire, or at the time of booking if later.

Payment method: Payments will be accepted in cash, cheque, or traveller’s cheques or Paypal.

Security deposit: A security deposit of £300 is required prior to the date of hire. This will be fully refunded within 7 days, if the vehicle is returned undamaged both externally and the interior intact.

Note: The hirer is responsible for all personal belongings. We accept no responsibility for loss or damage to personal belongings or effects.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be made in writing and received four weeks prior to start date of hire for a full refund (except booking deposit).

Hire Days As we are flexible, in both the start and finish times, every day hired on a motorhome will be charged as a full calendar day. Hirers can take delivery from 9am, and return up to 5pm. When we book motorhomes, we cannot hire these vehicles out to other hirers and this is why hirers must pay a full days hire costs for both the start and finish dates of their hire period, regardless of your start and return times. We have to make the vehicle available for you and cannot hire the vehicle to others on your start and return dates, regardless of an early or late return or delivery.

Return procedure: Upon return the vehicle will be checked in. The hirer will be asked to sign a form stating that no accidents have taken place involving the hire vehicle, during the time of hire. If the vehicle and hirer has been involved in a Road Traffic Accident, a description, including location, time and date, a diagram ot the incident, the identification of any police officer in attendance, or incident number, and the names and addresses of those involved and witnesses should be included. Any damages or defects shall be noted and signed. Failure to disclose any damages will result in the cost of damages being deducted from Security Deposit. Please note: failure to empty waste from the cassette toilet will result in a £50 charge.

Damage to the Motorhome: Any damage to the interior or exterior, regardless of blame, is the responsibility of the Hirer as well as any loss of any items supplied with the vehicle during it’s period of hire.
Loss of Vehicle prior to Hire: If for any reason outwith their control, Ayrshire Motorhomes cannot supply a vehicle for the hire period. A full refund will be given. Ayrshire Motorhomes will have no responsibility for any events/campsites or travel arrangements booked.

Insurance: The Insurance is only valid for the period of hire, which is the collection date and the specified return date and time. Any late return or driving by non-named drivers would invalidate the Insurance and constitute a Road Traffic Offense, in which the driver may be liable to prosecution. The hirer and any driver will also by liable for any damage to the vehicle, any personal injuries, any third party damage/injuries or any other related liabilities after the Insurance expiry.
Vehicle Repairs: The hirer must obtain permission from Ayrshire Motorhomes for any replacement/repair costs above £50.00

We have a strict no smoking policy and any offenders will lose their full security deposit.

Fuel and gas: Vehicles are supplied with a full tank of fuel and should be returned full . Any part empty fuel tanks on return - balance will be deducted from security deposit.

Vehicles are supplied with two gas bottles, one of which is guaranteed full. These can be returned empty, however if they both run empty during a hire it is the hirer’s responsibility to refill these bottles.

Mileage Allowance: There is no mileage charge for the first 800 miles(you can easily tour Scotland within 800 miles. After 800 miles, there will be a charge of £10.00 per 100 hundred miles.

Identification: All hirer’s will be required to produce 3 Identity Documents prior to hire; (A) Passport or Photo Driving licence, (B) Utility Bill showing the same address as hirer, (C) Bank or Credit Car Statement (showing the same address as hirer). Failure to produce these documents, or if there are any doubts regarding the identification off the hirer, then the Hire will be refused.
